1. Overview
Cert Happens does not require an account to use its practice tests. We aim to collect only the information needed to operate the site, protect it from abuse, understand general site performance, and improve question quality.
2. Practice-test sessions
Your active test, question order, displayed answer order, selections, flags, and completion state are stored in your browser's session storage. This information remains in the current browser tab so that moving between questions or refreshing the page does not erase the test.
Detailed session data stays in the browser. When a test is completed, the site sends the limited question-performance summary described below rather than the full browser session.
3. Anonymous practice performance
Beginning September 1, 2026, completing a practice test sends a limited question-performance summary to Cert Happens. The summary can include a random attempt ID, test and certification identifiers, exam and objectives versions, data version, completion time, question ID and version, domain, objective, topic, whether the final response was correct, incorrect, or unanswered, and whether a structured response was answered, incomplete, or unanswered.
The random attempt ID is created for one practice-test attempt. It is not reused as a visitor ID or tied to an account. The performance database does not store names, email addresses, account identities, selected answers, correct-answer identifiers, question or answer text, overall score, elapsed time, referrer, browser or user-agent details, or IP addresses.
Performance data is used to identify questions, explanations, or content that may need review and to produce aggregate insights. A high miss rate is treated as a quality-assurance signal first. Public statistics will use aggregate data and minimum sample-size thresholds rather than identifying individual attempts.
4. Question reports
When you submit a question report, the site stores information needed to review the issue. This can include the question ID, exam and test identifiers, report category, optional note, displayed answer order, selected answer identifiers, source page, data version, and submission date.
Reports do not require your name or email address. Cert Happens does not store your IP address in the question-report database, although infrastructure providers may process network information temporarily to provide security and deliver the service.
5. Cloudflare services
The site uses Cloudflare for hosting, content delivery, security, Pages Functions, Turnstile verification, and database services. Cloudflare may process technical request information as part of providing those services. The practice-performance database does not store IP addresses.
6. Analytics
Cert Happens uses Cloudflare Web Analytics and Google Analytics 4 on the production site to understand traffic, page use, site performance, referral sources, approximate geography, and general browser or device categories. This information helps identify useful resources and technical problems.
Google Analytics may use first-party cookies or similar browser storage to distinguish visitors and sessions. Google may process technical request information, including IP addresses, to provide the service and derive coarse location information. Cert Happens does not require visitors to identify themselves to use practice tests or study resources.
7. Advertising and third-party services
The site may add advertising or other third-party services in the future. If those services change the information collected or how it is used, this policy will be updated.
8. Data retention
Question reports may be retained while they are reviewed and afterward as part of the quality-control history. Anonymous practice-performance records may be retained for question quality analysis and historical aggregate reporting. Operational logs and analytics are retained according to the settings and limits of the service providers used by the site.
9. Your choices
You can close the browser tab to end the current session-storage workflow. If a practice test is not completed, no practice-performance summary is submitted for that attempt. You can also choose not to submit an optional question report. Browser and privacy controls may provide additional ways to limit local storage or analytics.
10. Children's privacy
Cert Happens is a general educational resource and is not designed to collect personal information from children. The site does not knowingly request names, account details, or contact information from children.
11. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as the site adds features, advertising, or service providers. Revision information may be maintained in page metadata without adding publication or modification dates to the reading flow.
